I was looking into a study carried out by the urology publication, BJU international. The study reviewed 60 years worth of research into men and women's views on penis size. The main results of the research showed that most men were extremely anxious about the size of their penis even if it was considered average. However, the majority of women did not agree that a bigger penis made a man more attractive, but were more drawn towards personality and looks!
The study measured the size of 11,000 men's penises and found that the average length was between 5.5-6.2 inches and the average girth was 4.6-5.1 inches. The following is a list of key findings of this review:-
- Out of 50,000 heterosexual men and women, 86% of women were satisfied by the size of their partner's penis. However only 54% of men were satisfied.
- 90% of women said they would prefer a wider penis and not a longer one
- The main anxiety for men about wishing to increase penis size came from childhood experiences and watching pornographic movies
- Homosexual men had bigger penises compared to their heterosexual counterparts. Researchers explained that this may have much to do with the exposure to male reproductive hormones present in the womb!
